Last night, a surprising demo featuring Banjo-Kazooie debuted at the SXSW Awards Show. The demo was created exclusively for the show by a company called Audience Entertainment and for the sole purpose of having an interactive experience for the audience. The audience interacted with the demo by waving their arms back and forth, which would direct the bear and bird toward their goal of collecting Notes and Jiggies. You can watch the demo in part of the archived live stream below, beginning at the 3-minute mark…

Now before you get alarmed, the demo is not indicative of a motion-controlled Banjo-Kazooie being in the works. Should Banjo be returning in the near future as rumors suggest, it will not be a Kinect-based game. So don’t worry! That being said, the demo itself actually looked quite fun, minus the arm waggling. A mini-game like that in a new Banjo game with controller-based controls would definitely be welcome imo. What do you think? Would you like to see something like that in a new Banjo game?
