What you may or may not be aware of is this hilarious reference to Mario in Banjo-Tooie. When you arrive to Grunty’s Industries, there is a location within the factory on the first floor called ‘The Workers Quarters’. Is in there that you will discover Loggo, who was previously located in Banjo-Kazooie’s Mad Monster Mansion world but ripped out by Grunty to be utilized by the Grunty’s Industries’ work force. When you speak to him, he’ll inform you of his current situation, which is he being clogged up with a piece paper (it’s a Cheato Page). Speak to him again before unclogging him and you’ll see the following reference to Mario…

Loggo: “I’m all blocked up… Help!”
Kazooie: “Then call a plumber. That well known italian guy is free at the moment.”
Loggo: “I don’t think he actually does that kind of work anymore…”

Pretty cool, right? That is from the XBLA version of Banjo-Tooie. The Nintendo 64 version actually references Mario directly by name, something that Rare was allowed to do at the time.

Were any of you aware of this reference? Are there any others in the game that you can think of? If so, sound off in the comments!
