So I was in Wal-Mart purchasing some necessities for the house when I came across a pack of Skittles next to the register. Not just any pack of Skittles though, oh no, it was a special pack of Skittles. In fact, several special packs of them! So what is it that makes these particular Skittles packages so special? Well… they happen to have the Kinect Sports brand labeled on them!
So apparently Wrigley and Microsoft are currently promoting the Xbox 360 and Kinect Sports: Season Two through Wrigley branded merchandise such as Skittles and Starburst. People who purchase either of the above are given a free game code inside the packages that can be used in Wrigley’s new mobile game Candy Sports.
Candy Sports is a free download available on Android and iOS devices. On the packages and in the game itself, Candy Sports is specifically stated to be inspired by Rare’s Kinect Sports: Season Two. I’ve downloaded and tried the game myself and can definitely say that it does take its inspiration from KS. It consists of only three sports, however, and those are baseball, football and basketball. Each are okay but certainly nothing to be overly excited about but they’re not half bad for what they are.
So if your’re in possession of a smart phone and in the market for a free Kinect Sports inspired game, then download Candy Sports and give it a whirl. And don’t forget to purchase a supporting Wrigley product for a chance to win an Xbox 360 and copy of Rare’s Kinect Sports: Season Two!
